Good Find

I am very excited I found two end tables this weekend at a second hand store in Scottsdale. I just wanted to share my find with all of you. I am still trying to convince my hubby that they are perfect for our small apartment. One of the bad aspects of being a designer is I am constantly changing my mind on "my style"!! I am sure I will figure it out one day. They are great for our space and darling!!

Spring Training

Another reason to love Arizona is the spring time which means Spring Training. People come from all over to come watch their favorite professional baseball team play. We have the games in our backyard. It was a perfect day for a baseball game.We got to catch the Padres vs. the Oakland A's game this past Saturday. We went with the Glenns and the Smiths and lounged in the sun.

San Diego Trip

Last weekend was our cousin David's farewell in Lake forest, Orange County. Last minute Michael and I jumped in the car and drove down to surprise him for his big day. We got to spend a full day with Michael's family at their house and eat a yummy meal at his favorite pizza place.

The man of the hour David, he was called to Utica, New York. We are so happy for him! He is going to to be the best missionary ever!

Overall it was a very short and full weekend. I love going home to San Diego, it is always so fun to see cousins and family that we don't get to see very often.Thanks for making it a special and comfortable stay for us mom and dad. David we wish you the best and will pray for you often. Cant wait to get back to San Diego to see everyone soon.

Pro-Timing Day

Today I had my Pro-Timing Day. For those of you that don't know, this is an event where all the NFL scouts come to evaluate college players with NFL potential. Each NFL Team is represented and they report their observations and data on players to help teams make million dollar decisions during the draft on April 26th. It is definitely a meat market and the scouts treat it as if they were at the auction buying race horses. They measured me for height, weight, the length of my hands, reach, wingspan, the length of my calves, and the size of my nostrils. Not really but you get the idea. In the picture above this scout from the Detroit Lions is trying to measure how far I can get my fingers past my toes. I got 5 inches if you were curious.

Cam was more anxious than I was. Last night she must of woke up a dozen times. I asked her to film all the events but she didn't because she was just too overwhelmed. She is such a nervous ninny but I love her. She was the only wife/loved one with enough guts to hang out in a crowd full of NFL players and agents. These stills are all we have. In addition to vertical jumps and standing broad jumps I also did a bench press test with 225 lbs. for maximum reps. I knew I was going to have a great day when I crushed personal record by 6 reps. I was really pumped.

After doing all of that I went outside to the turf field to run. This is me warming up. If you can't tell I am in my own little world here running through my head everything I have been practicing in training over the last three months.

This is me in my stance getting ready to run the 40yd. dash. Below is me toward the last quarter of the sprint. I had another personal (while weighing more than 292lbs) best running 4.97 seconds. I know that probably means nothing to most of you but that is smoking for a guy my size. In fact, out of the DT's that were drafted last year there was only one who ran faster and he weighed 14 lbs less than me.


All in all, I had one of the best pro timing days. It would be hard to imagine it being any better. Not only did I reach all of my goals, I crushed them and set several personal records. What does this all mean? To be honest, not much. This doesn't mean I am getting drafted or that I am going to be playing in the NFL next year. But in a very convincing manner I showed the NFL scouts that I have the size, speed, and strength to be a great NFL player. Right now I am elated. I did my very best and It feels great to have all of this done and out of the way. It is no longer in my hands and I have done all I can. I have to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers and I can tell you right now that it worked. I am still shocked to think of what I accomplished today. I feel so blessed and I must thank my Heavenly Father. I love all you guys and I thank you for your support. Let's cross our fingers for April 26th (or 27th).

2008 Awards Banquet

Michael won a post graduate scholarship from the National Football Foundation. We were invited to attend a VERY VERY LONG banquet in his honor to receive this award.

Doesn't he look so handsome in that tux? You have no idea how hard it was to get him there in that uncomfortable suit..... and smiling. He did it and looked darling as always :)


These are a couple of newscasters from ABC that have followed Michael in his college career at ASU. They MC'd the evening and did a great job. I got to sit at the table with all ASU coaches and staff, also seated at our table was the legendary football coach at ASU Frank Kush. It was neat to chat and get to know him that evening. Fun NIGHT! It pays to go to school and get good grades now we have a little more money towards grad school. Way to go KIMO!

XOXO DAY

Michael and I had a quiet but oh so fun Valentines day and night. For those of you who don't know Michael and I we are very simple when it comes to Holidays. We enjoyed a nice dinner in and ate a yummy meal together.
mmmmm..... So Delicious! Right when I thought the night was over Michael surprised me with a mini chocolate fountain! We had so much fun dipping all sorts of tasty treats inside the pure milk chocolate. My favorites were the strawberries and pineapple.
The treats continue.........
FLOWERS... FLOWERS.... FLOWERS........ That's all I have to say.

A month Later. . .

Here we are a month later and I am just now blogging. Where did the time go? This year Michael and I had a different, unique Christmas, again. . . We aren't going to know what it's like to wake up on Christmas morning not being in a hotel.We were in San Diego for the holiday bowl against the Texas Longhorns on the 27th. We were really impressed with San Diego and all of the acitivities, and yummy meals they sponsored for both teams. On Christmas Eve we went to the San Diego Zoo with the whole team, and on Christmas day we got to go to Sea World with everybody.
Here we are at the Naval Base. We were able to have a brunch on the USS Ronald Regan with the Longhorns.

We got to sneak in a bit of time with Michaels family on Christmas Eve and Day, because they live in San Diego. Here is Mikey rockin out on his new Guitar Hero! Thanks Gram!
